I’M NOT HER.

Sometimes I think back to where I used to be in life. I may be the only one who feels this way, but life had a way of giving me lots of lemons, instead of instructions of what to do with those lemons.

Never was the one who really saw the positive outlook in life, until I found what could sustain me and give me purpose, and that was when I found God.

Living like your regular girl, living her life and going through the motions of all life brought, but I wasn’t motivated. I didn’t know what my life’s goal was in the end. I didn’t have an end goal to what I wanted to accomplish.

HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE THAT BEFORE?

I was desperately stuck, and didn’t know what was going on.

I grew up in church and knew of God having a plan for my life, but I never thought, specifically that he has a plan just for me. I doubted myself and my abilities.

I saw everyone doing things and thought, no, I’m not her though. My “her” was the person that did it all, that was perfect, that could please everyone and do everything.

In theory, I knew that “she” couldn’t do it all and couldn’t be that perfect, but it looked attractive. Being someone else looked attractive.

For so long, I shrinked back with my abilities in being who I really was.

It wasn’t until God literally had to shake my world and point me in the direction that he wanted me to go in, till I realized who I was and my ultimate purpose.

I only realized my purpose and stopped the comparison game when I truly surrendered to God. Knowing him hasn’t been a cake walk, but trusting him, and giving him my life has been the greatest release of control I’ve ever had!

HERE ARE SOME TIPS

  1. Give him full control again of your life

  2. Lay down all of the comparisons of “her” to him

  3. Learn about who he calls you to be and who he says you are

  4. Devote yourself to finding out what God wants you to do with your life

  5. Live out your purpose loud and proudly and serve others

My ultimate purpose is to bring him glory, whether it’s through my writing, encouraging, or speaking to others. I want to let you know that your purpose is to live your life for him too. You’re not called to be like “her”.

You’re called to be like you. Your authentic self, you.

JUST REMEMBER

God called you and knew you even before you were in your mother’s womb, so he knew all that you were capable of. If he wanted you to be “her”, he wouldn’t have made you…YOU!

You’re so special, and you’re so loved. I want you to take out the comparison of “her”, and whomever “her” represents. You’re not the “her” of your past, the “her” of someone you compare yourself to, or even the “her” of your present self right now.

You are a person of God with purpose and strength, called to change the world!
