Being reliable is so much pressure.
Being liked is so much pressure.
You know what those two statements above have in common?
The Words BEING and PRESSURE.
When did we all of a sudden put the pressure on what we need to become and take on something that’s not familiar to ourselves?
My biggest fear was not living up to expectations that others put on me. Thank God for learning who I am in Christ.
I know that the word RELIABLE doesn’t give me anxiety when I place it in the right context. I don’t equate those words to being something for someone else, but instead take that responsibility for myself…essentially giving the power back to ME.
Everyone LOVES power right!? Instead of that negative type of POWER, I’m taking about having the EMPOWERING type of POWER.
Yes, you may be the oldest in your family and you may be getting pulled into so many different directions, but take the power back and say the words of NO and take your time and develop self-control!
I’ve had my days no doubt where everything gets so unbearable. I’m playing “the savior” for friends and even family, with so many people depending on me left and right. Don’t let it build up into pressure, remember you hold the power.
I’m encouraging you and giving you this pep talk, yes YOU.
You need to know that even if a million people need you, you only have one person to take care of, and that’s you. Your self comes first and don’t allow anyone to burden you or make you feel the pressure to help.
I had to learn and I’m still learning to this day, that being a savior to everyone helps no one in the end. You’re reliability to others do not measure your worth.
You are worth it to others if you can’t help and if you can help.
AND
You are worth it if you aren’t able to be called on and if you are able to be called on.
You will not allow pressure to consume you and overtake you.
TALK TO ME, HAVE YOU EVER FELT THE PRESSURE OF LIFE TO ALWAYS BE THERE FOR OTHERS!? DO YOU FIND BEING RELIABLE ALL THE TIME A BURDEN!?
